Umicore Sealing 691 is a post-treatment process for precious metal surfaces. The treated surfaces will be protected against tarnishing or discoloration for a prolonged period.
A thin, transparent protective layer is applied by a simple immersion process without adverse effect on the solderability and hardly any influence on the con- tact resistance compared to an untreated surface.
The friction coefficient of the surface will be clearly reduced. Therefore Umicore Sealing 691 is particularly suitable for sliding and plug-in contacts but for decora- tive applications as well.
The easy-to-use immersion solution does not contain any components harmful to the environment, no chlo- rofluorohydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, hydrocarbons or chromium compounds in particular.
